Resumen


Mediante la creación de una aplicación móvil de aprendizaje sobre elementos del patrimonio, relacionada con la implementación de recursos como son la Realidad Aumentada (RA) y la Navegación Peatonal Móvil (NPM), se han desarrollado procesos de formación en contextos de movilidad, enlazados con la información territorial sobre el patrimonio histórico y cultural correspondientes a las ciudades de Salamanca (España) y Santiago (Chile). El desarrollo del software se enfoca en dos grandes ámbitos: el primero es la determinación de los escenarios territoriales, generando una base de datos que pueda ser utilizada en contextos móviles; el segundo está enfocado en el diseño y el desarrollo de la aplicación RA-NPM, definiendo su arquitectura, funcionalidad, interfaz e implementación. Los resultados son la construcción de un software flexible en un ambiente móvil que permite la presentación de contenidos sobre el patrimonio histórico de las ciudades seleccionadas. De manera complementaria, se realiza la determinación de la efectividad de la aplicación dentro de un contexto de aprendizaje situado y móvil. Desde la percepción de los estudiantes, se evalúa la aplicación móvil y los aprendizajes desarrollados, mediante un instrumento (cuestionario), consultando dimensiones como son el hardware, el software y los contenidos patrimoniales como partes del proceso educativo en un contexto móvil y situado. Los resultados establecen que existe una positiva evaluación en torno a las herramientas y las experiencias implementadas, permitiendo generar nuevas metodologías de aprendizaje mediadas en contextos móviles.

Resumen


El presente artículo describe una experiencia educativa usando Realidad Aumentada (RA) en dispositivos móviles para el aprendizaje de conceptos de diseño urbano en estudiantes del Grado de Arquitectura. A tal efecto, se ha diseñado un ejercicio práctico sobre la casuística de un proyecto real, donde los estudiantes deben diseñar una escultura para una plaza pública en función de los parámetros del entorno, debiendo controlar sus parámetros, la forma, escala, localización, materiales, etc. El ejercicio se visualiza y controla mediante plataformas móviles de RA, lo que permite enfatizar un aprendizaje colaborativo mediante el estudio de las propuestas del resto de estudiantes in situ. Para la evaluación del proceso, tanto a nivel de usabilidad como de mejora del proceso educativo, hemos dividido a los estudiantes en dos grupos: uno primero de control, que cursó un sistema tradicional de la asignatura en base a ejercicios de laboratorio, y un grupo experimental, que utilizó el sistema descrito en la ubicación real del proyecto. Al final del curso, y en base a los resultados obtenidos y discutidos en el presente artículo, el grupo experimental obtuvo mejores notas finales, al mismo tiempo que se constata un incremento en el grado de satisfacción y motivación de los estudiantes que han utilizado la propuesta experimental. Este aspecto nos permite reafirmar la utilidad del método en la mejora educativa en el ámbito donde se circunscribe la experiencia.

Actualmente, los entornos personales de aprendizaje aparecen como espacios educativos centrados en el estudiante para superar los limitantes identificados en las plataformas de aprendizaje institucional. Sin embargo, la mayoría de estudios publicados se basan únicamente en el uso de computadores sin considerar los dispositivos electrónicos móviles. El presente trabajo analiza la producción científica y académica sobre los Entornos Personales de Aprendizaje móvil en la Educación Superior. Desde el punto de vista metodológico, el estudio se realizó por medio de una revisión sistemática de la literatura utilizando varios recursos como: Scopus, Web Of Science, Google Scholar, entre otros. Se recogieron inicialmente una gran cantidad de documentos entre los años 2000 y 2016, a los cuales se aplicaron varios criterios de selección y de calidad, obteniéndose un número reducido estudios que se analizaron de manera cualitativa. Los resultados fueron descritos en categorías de acuerdo a las preguntas de investigación planteadas, donde se incluyeron aquellos estudios sobre dispositivos móviles y entornos personales de aprendizaje, los que muestran proyectos de plataformas integradas, las investigaciones donde se usan herramientas externas con un enfoque más pedagógico, algunos aportes teóricos y los que evalúan estas innovaciones. En conclusión, los entornos personales de aprendizaje móvil se muestran como escenarios tecnológicos de reciente introducción en la educación universitaria y, aunque se han encontrado resultados satisfactorios, se requiere más investigación para poder establecer generalizaciones replicables en otros contextos.

La integración efectiva del dispositivo móvil en la educación y en el aprendizaje

Resumen


Es un hecho que los dispositivos móviles, especialmente los teléfonos tipo smartphone, e Internet han cambiado sustancialmente las costumbres de la población, los hábitos sociales, las maneras de comunicación y, en definitiva, la forma de vida de las personas. Inevitablemente, aunque con diferentes barreras y con un tiempo quizás mayor del vaticinado por los estudios, la movilidad también ha llegado al contexto educativo, con diferente intensidad, penetración y uso en la formación formal y no formal, y de forma plena al ámbito del aprendizaje informal. El dispositivo móvil está llamado a revolucionar las prácticas educativas por aportar unos grados de libertad que otras tecnologías anteriores no ofrecían. La potencia de la conectividad ubicua y las posibilidades de contar con el acceso a las fuentes de conocimiento en un dispositivo de bolsillo, como el teléfono, o del tamaño de cuaderno en el caso de las tabletas, dotado además de una capacidad de procesamiento superior a la de ordenadores personales de hace unos pocos años, plantean escenarios disruptivos en las metodologías educativas con el apoyo de la tecnología y respaldan la formación en línea como una opción natural que se integra como complemento o como modelo formativo principal. No obstante, esta visión idílica tiene diferente grado de aceptación según el nivel educativo, el área disciplinar y la formalidad de la acción formativa. Por tanto, se necesita de estudios de investigación a gran escala que transmitan cuál es el grado de avance, uso efectivo, aceptación y penetración de las tecnologías móviles en la educación y el aprendizaje. Esta es la razón de ser de este número monográfico de la Revista Iberoamericana de Educación a Distancia (RIED), que se compone de 13 artículos seleccionados después de una rigurosa revisión por pares de las más de 35 propuestas recibidas.

Educación a distancia y virtual: calidad, disrupción, aprendizajes adaptativo y móvil

Resumen


Frente a las resistencias, la educación a distancia y digital va tomando ventaja sobre los formatos presenciales. Cuando los diseños pedagógicos son acertados, la calidad de los aprendizajes digitales está probada. La eficacia de estos sistemas es, al menos, similar a la de los presenciales. Por otra parte, se plantea en este trabajo el debate sobre las innovaciones y tecnologías disruptivas, proponiendo que el aprendizaje digital (nueva versión de la educación a distancia) está suponiendo una disrupción educativa porque plantea un cambio drástico de soportes y métodos y porque progresivamente va ganando espacio a los formatos convencionales. Y, finalmente, afirmamos que esta tendencia no está agotada, sino que continúa penetrando y ahondando la ruptura con las nuevas tecnologías, como, por ejemplo, las analíticas de aprendizaje, el aprendizaje adaptativo y el aprendizaje móvil.

Resumen


Es un hecho que los dispositivos móviles, especialmente los teléfonos tipo smartphone, e Internet han cambiado sustancialmente las costumbres de la población, los hábitos sociales, las maneras de comunicación y, en definitiva, la forma de vida de las personas. Inevitablemente, aunque con diferentes barreras y con un tiempo quizás mayor del vaticinado por los estudios, la movilidad también ha llegado al contexto educativo, con diferente intensidad, penetración y uso en la formación formal y no formal, y de forma plena al ámbito del aprendizaje informal. El dispositivo móvil está llamado a revolucionar las prácticas educativas por aportar unos grados de libertad que otras tecnologías anteriores no ofrecían. La potencia de la conectividad ubicua y las posibilidades de contar con el acceso a las fuentes de conocimiento en un dispositivo de bolsillo, como el teléfono, o del tamaño de cuaderno en el caso de las tabletas, dotado además de una capacidad de procesamiento superior a la de ordenadores personales de hace unos pocos años, plantean escenarios disruptivos en las metodologías educativas con el apoyo de la tecnología y respaldan la formación en línea como una opción natural que se integra como complemento o como modelo formativo principal. No obstante, esta visión idílica tiene diferente grado de aceptación según el nivel educativo, el área disciplinar y la formalidad de la acción formativa. Por tanto, se necesita de estudios de investigación a gran escala que transmitan cuál es el grado de avance, uso efectivo, aceptación y penetración de las tecnologías móviles en la educación y el aprendizaje.
