RIED ranks in the top category CIRC-2024 - Journal A+

The Integrated Classification of Scientific Journals - CIRC aims to construct a ranking of scientific journals in the Social Sciences and Humanities based on their quality, integrating existing evaluation products that are positively regarded by various Spanish evaluation agencies such as CNEAI and ANECA.

It is also intended that the model be operational and the resulting classification can be integrated into scientific information systems to facilitate the construction of bibliometric indicators aimed at evaluating and describing the research outcomes of various scientific entities such as universities, departments, or researchers.

Therefore, the Integrated Classification of Scientific Journals - CIRC, represents a common measurement tool used by evaluators, researchers, and bibliometrics research groups, facilitating comparisons and information sharing.

The journal classification criteria in CIRC are as follows:

  • A+: High-impact journals, with international prestige and reference.
  • A: International journals of greater prestige that have undergone very demanding evaluation processes.
  • B: Quality scientific journals that do not reach a high level of internationalization.
  • C: Second-tier scientific journals with limited impact.
  • D: Publications not included in any of the previous categories.

The RIED-Iberoamerican Journal of Distance Education is classified in the top Category A+ in Social Sciences, as a "Journal of high impact, prestige, and international reference." Note that very few Spanish education journals achieve this highest rating (3 or 4). Another great achievement that adds to other significant indices obtained by RIED in other metrics.
