RIED. Revista Iberoamericana de Educación a Distancia (Ibero-American Journal of Digital Education) is celebrating its accomplishments in 2020
- Googe Scholar Metrics. The 2020 RIED edition ranks number 13 in the top 100 journals written preferably in Spanish. See full report of RIED in the GSM.
- REDIB Ranking (Red Iberoamericana de Innovación y Conocimiento Científico). The 2020 RIED edition occupies the 27th place out of a total of 1070 journals, covering all areas and subjects, which were indexed at the same time in REDIB and in Web of Science. Among the education journals, it ought to be ranked 7th. See full report of RIED in REDIB.
- ESCI ranking of Web of Science. In the 2020 edition of the ESCI rating published annually by the journal Comunicar, RIED ranks number 28 out of a total of 551 education journals indexed in ESCI (1st decile). Likewise, RIED is positioned in the third place considering only the Ibero-American journals. See full report of RIED in ESCI.

- Of course, RIED has obtained the third consecutive certification of the seal of quality awarded by FECYT (Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología del Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación de España).
RIED promotes the international dissemination of advances in research and development in the context of open and distance teaching/learning, e-learning and Educational Technology. Its scope is regional, Ibero-American (Latin America, Spain and Portugal).
RIED does not have any article submission charges or article processing charges (APCs).
Another novelty of 2020 is that all the articles published since 2016 already appear in HTML format, in addition to PDF and e-PUB. HTML allows all articles to be translated into any language automatically if using an appropriate web browser, which can have an international impact.
RIED's commitment is to specialize in research proposals related to emerging issues related to digital education in their different presentations and formulations. An example of this is the series of Special Issues with a new perspective which has been published in the last years.
