How do online seminars contribute to educational innovation?

The Covid-19 pandemic forced educational institutions to quickly adapt to online teaching, which also created the need to train teachers in digital skills and innovation.

This article analyzes the results of the #webinarsUNIA program, a series of free seminars organized by the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía since 2013, but which gained particular relevance in the 2020-2021 edition, when twenty seminars were offered to teachers who urgently needed to virtualize their teaching.

The program attracted over 10,000 participants from various parts of the world, and its impact was assessed through satisfaction surveys.

The results showed very positive feedback in terms of organization, quality of content and presenters, as well as the perceived usefulness of the activities. Additionally, the program contributed to the creation of open educational resources (OER) and was a pioneer in implementing digital micro-credentials for participants.

The #webinarsUNIA experience not only addressed immediate training demands but also laid the foundation for future online learning projects, such as SPOC courses, and provided insights for designing teacher training programs focused on digital skills and educational innovation.
