In higher education, subjects perceived as challenging by students represent a significant obstacle to academic success. This issue underscores the importance of implementing creative pedagogical strategies that address barriers to motivation and learning, thereby fostering a more effective assimilation of content.
In this context, video-based learning emerges as a versatile tool, capable of integrating pedagogical methodologies with the motivational and technical potential of multimedia technologies.
This study focuses on a methodology that combines the use of educational videos with a difficulty-assessment system developed from student feedback.
This approach identifies the most complex areas of a subject and addresses them through audiovisual resources specifically designed to meet those needs. By providing students with tailored materials, their academic preparation is enhanced, and their active role in the learning process is strengthened, promoting autonomy and greater engagement.
The research, implemented in a pilot accounting course, demonstrates encouraging results that extend beyond the specific context. Statistical analyses and satisfaction surveys reveal improvements in academic performance and positive perceptions of the proposed tool.
These findings not only validate the effectiveness of the developed system but also invite its application to other fields of knowledge, positioning video-based learning as a robust and scalable pedagogical solution.
