The article "Audiovisual Production in University: Spaces for Teaching Innovation in Iberoamerica" explores how universities in Ibero-America are using audiovisual content production as an innovative tool in education.
Authors María Toscano-Alonso, J. Ignacio Aguaded Gómez, Edna M. Manotas Salcedo, and Silvia C. Farias-Gaytán conducted a qualitative study based on bibliographic reviews and interviews with heads of innovation centers at three universities: Universidad del Norte in Colombia, Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico, and Universidad de Huelva in Spain.
The results highlight the importance of specialized human and technological resources, as well as pedagogical support, in creating educational audiovisual materials.
The interviews revealed that these centers, despite having different names and approaches, share similar goals: to support teachers and students in producing high-quality educational content.
The study concludes that the production of educational videos is a growing trend that adds value to university teaching by promoting greater student interaction and participation. However, it also identified challenges, such as the need for constant content updates and the importance of planning for human and technical resources.
