The article "Retrospective analysis for the perception of educational tools for the development of collaborative activities in virtual environments" presents research focused on the effectiveness of digital tools in online higher education.
Developed using a phenomenological qualitative approach, the research involved 211 online postgraduate students over six academic years, analyzing their perceptions of the benefits and challenges encountered when using collaborative tools in their learning process.
The results of this study reveal a notable diversity in the use of digital tools, adapted to the complexity of the virtual classroom and the multiprofessional profiles of the participants. However, there is a pronounced need for connection among students to share concerns, establish bonds, and build collective knowledge.
During and after the pandemic, there was a greater emphasis on collaborative tasks, suggesting that these virtual environments are essential for creating meaningful educational experiences and fostering socialization among students.
The research concludes that the integration of online collaboration tools is crucial for the development of academic activities in postgraduate education. Additionally, group self-regulation in terms of maturity, networking, chronological adjustments, and task understanding is fundamental for overcoming the difficulties encountered.
