How are digital teaching methodologies changing higher education?

In the current context of higher education, digitalization and adaptation to the European Higher Education Area have created an urgent need to review and update teaching methodologies.

This article, titled "Analysis of Teaching Methodologies Using Digital Technologies in Higher Education: a Systematic Review," addresses this topic precisely, exploring how digital technologies are being incorporated into university teaching.

Anna Sánchez-Caballé and Francesc M. Esteve-Mon from the Universitat Jaume I in Spain conduct a systematic literature review to analyze and classify teaching methodologies that use digital technologies, based on the PRISMA approach.

The study reveals a significant increase in publications on this topic in recent years and highlights the most used methodologies, such as group work, problem-based learning, and examinations.

Furthermore, it is observed that most proposals involve the use of digital technologies that allow both the substitution of traditional methods and the promotion of creative use by students.

This analysis is essential to understand current practices and precedents in teaching with digital technologies, thereby contributing to improving the teaching-learning processes in higher education.
