Carrington’s Wheel Reimagined for AI

The article "Pedagogy Wheel for Artificial Intelligence: Adaptation of Carrington's Wheel" offers an innovative and structured pedagogical framework for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the teaching and learning process.

This approach addresses the growing need to personalize and optimize education in a rapidly evolving digital world.

By adapting Carrington's Pedagogy Wheel, the article introduces Bloom's Taxonomy and the SAMR Model, both tailored to incorporate AI tools. This fosters a more personalized and interactive learning experience while emphasizing the inclusion of ethical and sustainable considerations—crucial for the responsible application of technology in educational contexts.

The methodology employed in the article, grounded in a systematic review and bibliometric analysis, underscores the scientific rigor of the proposal. By identifying key thematic clusters—AI integration in education, educational technologies, pedagogical innovation, and sustainable and ethical education—the research highlights critical areas where AI can exert a transformative impact.

These findings validate the development of the wheel as a practical tool for educators and learners, facilitating the selection of technological strategies and tools at varying cognitive levels and degrees of technological integration, while also addressing the ethical and reflective dimensions necessary for the conscientious use of AI.

Finally, the inclusion of a reflective-metacognitive layer in the wheel promotes critical engagement with AI usage and underscores the importance of metacognition in lifelong learning. This ensures that both students and educators cultivate the critical competencies needed to evaluate and apply technology in an ethical and effective manner.
